[AutoDaily] Toyota keeps a global top-maker position same as previous year.

Including Asahi newspaper, Japanese local press, reported that Toyota Motor had sold 9.96 million units during 2013. It is higher 50 thousand units than their expectation which was 9.91 million units.

They sold 2.33 million units in U.S. market, reached the highest-record 910 thousand units in China market.

By last November, the global accumulated sales volume of Toyota, Daihatsu, and Hino was 9.09 million units.

Toyota’s U.S. result was good influenced by economic recovery, even though the exchange rate of the yen flinched the second half year.

Last 2012, the territorial dispute so called Senkaku Island (Chinese name Diaoyudao) between China-Japan was ignited into a boycott made in Japan products. It raged itself out over the last year, so sales volume had increased since last October.

The General Motor ranked the second place, and sold 9.71 million units followed Toyota.

The Chevrolet marked 4.98 million units, smashed a previous maximum record. The Cadillac, premium brand of GM, showed 30% upturn which was sold 250 thousand units.

The China (3,160,000 units) and U.S. (2,780,000 units) occupied half of their market. The major market such as China, U.S., Brazil, and U.K. hold their strong growth, meanwhile, Russia’s one declined like double figures sales.

The GM will strengthen premium brand making Cadillac go ahead, and reorganize European market on with Opel and Vauxhall as the center. The company plan to win back to first place in China deprived from Volkswagen.

The Volkswagen group unfortunately ranked the third, 9.70 thousand units total sale.

On Chinese market, the company recorded 3.27 thousand units an increase of 16.2% compared with the previous year. They seated number on position beating out the GM in 9 years. The sales was achieved 3.64 million an increase of 14.7% year on year in Asia-pacific market except China one.

On European market, they sold 1.64 million units a decrease of 3.7% over last year. Even though an economic recession was severe, they put up good defense with New Golf as the center.

However, they sold only 400 thousand units decreasing 6.9% in U.S. market where selling new cars recovered on. The Volkswagen should catch both China and U.S. market, for taking a global top-maker position.
