[AutoDaily] Hyundai Motor’s new Genesis is showing the storm it's amounting of contract is 12,000 units a month since first month released.Senior vice president of Hyundai motor's sales promotion division, Kim Sang-dae, attended "new Genesis Media Trial ride Event", announced its accumulated contract number is over 12,000 units for only 27 days since November 19.
It means 530 units a day, the old model BH had 210 units. It is 2.5 times more.
Kim said "the company is also very surprised by new Genesis's popularity.", "Korean consumers understand Hyundai's effort by competition with import automaker based on fundamental skills."
As a result of initial reaction analysis, since new Genesis launched, the sales quantity of three major German rival model decreased 18%.
New Genesis's individual purchase is 41.5% down to 10%, but corporation buying is 25% up to 3%. It show corporation buying is bigger than individual purchase.
The purchase age is analyzed 30-40 age group is 48%, compare to old model, it increased 6%P, generally, age group seems to be younger.
72% of purchaser opted for a four-wheel drive which is equipped for the first time among the Hyundai sedan line-up.
Hyundai said "because snow is more often during winter season, and the price of 4WD system is comparatively cheap; 2.5 million won, most of consumer choose 4WD model."
Meanwhile, new Genesis started mass production at Hyundai Ulsan 5 Factory since the end of last month. The delivering vehicle is delaying for perfect quality security it goes with strict process of release out of factory.
For that reason, it will spent 3 month more till delivery vehicle though the contract is now.
