[AutoDaily] Kia motor will release exclusive Chinese model K4 next year, and K6 in 2015.According to the person from Dongfeng Yueda-Kia, the company said that they are planning to sell exclusive Chinese model K4 in the first half of next year, K6 in 2015 in an interview on Chinese press.
The K4 and K6 are only for Chinese market. It has not decided to release other region yet.
The K4 will be produced by the second factory in China, K6 and K7 by the third factory in China which is scheduled for completion in next January.
Nowadays the small and semi-medium sized car like K2, K3 is selling more than 10 thousand per month, and the medium sized car like new K5 also gets a positive consumer response since it released from on 5 November.
The Kia strengthens Chinese market by launching All New Carens in May, K7 in June, and K9 in November. The company can complete the K series lineup- K2, K3, K4, K5, K6, K7, and K9- after launching K4 and K6.
The Kia have sold 445,000 units in Chinese market till last October, they expect to affirmatively achieve their goal of 520,000 units by year’s end.
The K4 is a four-door sedan used same platform with a three-door model Veloster. It is the Mistra’s B version which recently begins manufacture.
Nothing becomes known to details about K6 launched in 2015.
The company transfer K3 product line from the second factory to the third factory because K4 is turning out the second one.
Meanwhile, the Kia has suffered from sluggish sales in Korean and American markets. For recovering it on China, they move up the date for the completion of construction about the third factory in economic development zone Jiangsh Sheng, Yancheng. It changed on April 2014 to February 2014.
After it is completed that the third factory which has 300,000 units production capacity, the Kia’s annual production capacity is 740,000 units combined the first factory 140,000 units and the second on 300,000.
