Chinese Automakers are entering the Korea Market

[AutoDaily] With the Korea-China Free Trade Agreement (FTA) ahead, Chinese automakers get ready to enter to Korean Market.
 
Last year, Chinese bus company, Sunlung Bus advanced to Korean market for the first time. Followed the biggest bus and truck manufacturer, Foton motor, is preparing into Korean one.
 
According to car industry, Foton motor just made the supply contract with import car company. From as early as next year they will start to sell 4.5 ton trucks.
 
The trucks coming Korean market is Aumark which obtained Euro5 exhaust emissions certification, has American Cummins Engine and Germany ZF transmission.
 
Grips which make the contract with Foton is young company. The firm was invested by Hyudai-industry made plastic pipes.
 
The company tries to complete certification process in Korea within this year, then expects to open the sale.
 
The scale of Korean medium sized truck market is 12 thousands. Tata-Dawoo share the market.
Foton is planning to diversify car model like 3.5 ton, when they get good respond from Korean consumer about Aumark.
 
The person from Foton said, “Because Korean medium truck market is Hyundai motor stronghold so we didn’t expect to sell many units right now. But we will approach the market with long-term goals.”
 
The Sunlong Bus has been selling 150 units from last September to November. They achieve more than expected. The man in Sunlong said, “As Duego EX went viral, the people tend to repurchase. We expect to sell more than 170 units this year”
