[AutoDaily] Kwon Moon-sik, Research and Development president at Hyundai Motor Group, resign over the quality problems. Last October, he moved to R&D Department from president at Hyundai-Kefico and Hyundai-Autron. It has been to just a year.
President Kwon entered a Hyundai-Mobis in 1991, passed president of Technology Planning team at Hyundai motor, head of R&D Planning department, and then president at Hyundai-steel, CEO at Hyundai-Kefico. After he moved to headquarters in R&D, he charged of practical field under vice chairman Yang Woong-chul.
As Kwon is Chung Eui-sun’s closest allies, he leaded Hyundai-Kia R&D department. His resignation is expecting to bring a storm in R&D depart.
Not only Kwon but also vice chairman Kim Young-chil in charge of designing, executive Kim Sang-ki in charge of engineering and electronics technology stepped down since they took full responsibility for a series of quality problem.
The company appoints Park Jung-gil, the head of body and technology center, in succession to Kwon. The new head of body technology center is Kim Hun-soo, and new head of electronics and technology center is Park Dong-il.
This top executives reshuffle seems to discuss theory of responsibilities for a series of the quality issue.
