Hyundai Motor, Extend Heavy Trucks Market in Japan

[AutoDaily] Hyndai Motor is planning to extent its operation into Japan heavy trucks market.
 
The company has a presentation for a new car model Xcient which was released in Korea in April, through the 2013 Tokyo Motor show(opening 21th), then targets a Japan market.
 
Since early 2012, the company has gone through market surveying work with local subsidiaries for extending Japan heavy truck market, finishes development right-handle drive for Japan. The heavy trucks are launched at this motor show.
 
Choi han-young, head of Truck and Bus Division and vice Chairman at Hyundai motor, and the persons interested will attend this Xcient launching show.
 
Early last year, Hyundai motor denied that some Japanese press reported about attempting to extend heavy truck market after launching trailer truck.
 
Vice chairman Choi said at 2013 Seoul Motor show, the company is planning to release Trago same as Europe model coming 2015 in Japan.
 
Hyundai motor unveils heavy trucks through this motor show then, begins sales them using existing bus business base next year. The company sets up a goal of selling hundreds units in the beginning.
 
Also, the company plans to provide maintenance service through a partnership with major regional maintenance stores in Japan.
 
Cooperation in Tokyo Japan was established by Truck and Bus Division of Hyundai motor. It sells a large-sized bus, Universe, which sold a hundred units in the beginning, but sales volume has diminished like 50 units since 2011.
 
Meanwhile, the company will prepare booths for display Universe 2 units and Xcient at 2013 Tokyo motor show.
