미국시판용 제네시스는 후륜구동형 6실린더 및 8실린더 버전으로 전방 감시카메라가 삭제되면서 라디에이터그릴등 전면부가 약간 달라졌으며 사양도 미국시장에 맞게 조정됐

오는 13일(일) 디트로이트모터쇼장에서 전격 공개될 제네시스 미국버전은 최고출력 264마력급 3.3모델과 290마력급 3.8모델, 그리고 368마력급 타우 V8엔진이 장착된 4.6모델 등 3개 모델이 출시된다.
제네시스는 BMW 5시리즈, 메르세데스 벤츠 E클래스, 렉서스 GS, 인피니티 M등 고급브랜드와 경쟁하게 되며 현대차는 올해부터 미국과 유럽 등지에서 연간 2만대 가량을 판매한다는 목표를 세워놓고 있다.
미국에서 판매될 제네시스는 BMW등과의 경쟁을 위해 최저가격이 국내용보다 1천200만원 정도가 낮은 3만달러(2천824만원) 이하에서 책정될 것으로 전망되고 있다.
