The U.S. Ford Motor is ambitious of selling 10,000 units this year for the first time in Korea, for which they are bolstering up diesel car line-up.

Ford Sales Service Korea (CEO Jae-Hee Chung) has recently announced that six new models including three diesels like New Mondeo, New Kuga, and New Focus will be introduced in Korea this year.

Last year Ford Korea sold 8,800 units, up 21%, and this year they are targeting 10,000 units for the first time since they entered Korea in 1999.

Considering that Ford achieved a yearly 20~40% growth during the last three years, the ambition of 10,000 units will be easily met.

As for the last year, foreign brands that exceeded 10,000 unit sales mark are only four German brands, including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and VW.

The six models to be newly launched in Korea this year include New Mustang, New Mondeo, New Kuga, New Explorer, New Focus, and Lincoln New MKX.

The all new Mustang is a signature sports car, symbolizing a muscle car, with global sales of 9 million units during the last 50 years since its inception in 1964. The new model is the sixth generation.

The all new Mustang has been elaborated over the generations, and maintains its own design DNA combining more modern facets.

As being analogous of airplane cockpit, sophisticated and efficient dashboard and steering wheel are designed for dexterous handling and information, while maximizing safety and comfort.

The all new Mustang, in particular GT model equipped with V8 engine, is to be introduced in Korea for the first time.

The Mustang GT with 5.0L V8 engine boasts of a terrific power of 441hp, and a torque of 55.3kg.m.

The all new 2.3L Mustang equipped with an eco-boost engine has a performance of 314hp and 44.3kg.m torque as being adopted with unique inhale manifold, turbo-charger housing, etc.

The all new Mustang is scheduled to be introduced early this year in Korea.

The new Mondeo is a European-style diesel sedan, applied with state-of-the-art technologies, elegant design, and sophisticated driving, thus representing the Fords.

The New Modeo is equipped with adaptive LED headlamp, start-stop system, traffic signal sense, and an innovative expansive rear safety belts, while boasting high fuel efficiency and low CO2 emissions thanks to duratorque TDCi diesel engine.

The new Mondeo is planned to put in the Korean market during the 1st half of this year.

In line with the Mondeo, another European-style diesel model New Kuga is a futuristic compact SUV that provides dynamic driving capability, eminent fuel economy and safety.

The new Kuga is equipped with a hands-free tail-gate firstly for the equivalent models, and also adopted with a wide range of Ford’s safety technologies, like intelligent all-wheel driving system, vehicle dynamic control system, auto parking system, and lane departure warning system.

The duratorque TDCi diesel engine of the New Kuga is the first of such a kind in Korea, and will appear at the latter half of this year in Korea.

The Ford Explorer is a representative model of Fords with a global demand of over 7 million units since its inception, and also the best-seller of large imported SUVs with over 7 seats in Korea.

The upcoming model is a facelift version, introducing a more aero-dynamic design with higher grill position and LED headlamp, lower roof-rack, rear-spoiler, etc.

The engine of the new Explorer is upgraded to 2.3L eco-boost 4-cylinder, producing 10% higher horse power and torque, compared with the existing 2.0L engine.

Also its steering is adaptive to the road conditions for a best driving performance and traction control with a geomorphic controlling system, and various driving technologies like smarter active parking assit is also equipped.

The new Explorer will be launched at the latter half of this year in Korea.

The new Focus diesel is a minor changed model, that was enlisted in the top selling cars in the world for two consecutive years.

The new Focus, as being introduced for the first time at the 2014 Geneva motor show, has an emotional look and renewed interior as well as stylish design, and equipped with the duratorque TDCi diesel engine that shows off higher fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions.

And SYNC 2, the Ford voice cognitive communication system with an 8 inch high definition color touch screen is also fitted in.

Lincoln’s all-new MKX, as being introduced for the first time in the world as a concept car at the 2014 Beijing International Motor Show, is a large SUV, and the 3rd generation strategic model for Lincoln, together with the reborn MKZ with a new sign DNA, and MKC.

The strong power and agility of airplane and motorcycle gave some insight to the all-new MKX, and especially the Lincoln-specific ‘full-wing’ grill exhibits both emotional and masculine feelings.

The all-new Lincoln MKX will be shown at the 2nd half of this year in Korea.
