[Autodaily] On 10th September, dealers who sell import brands like BMW and Mercedes Benz in Korea will be investigated for overcharging customers on repairs by the public prosecutor's office.

This investigation has been undertaken from requests by Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Co., Ltd. to the Financial Supervisory Service(FSS) when repairs to imports seemed to be higher than usual.

Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Co., Ltd., the number one insurance company in Korea are conflicted by the import car industries maintenance and repair costs.

In 2011, Samsung had demanded a requested lawsuit to the courts about dealers overcharging on repairs from Audi and Volkswagen dealers. At the same time, some dealers of BMW sued Samsung because of the repairing cost suit that they filed.

After the 2011 ordeal, Samsung took the lead to represent all the insurance companies to try and arrange price cuts on import car parts with the dealers.

The public prosecutor's office will soon be investigating other overseas car companies like Toyota as well.
